Pizza House

October 8, 2010 Ashleigh

I will start this review by saying that Pizza House is one of my favorite restaurants in East Lansing. They recently renovated and the place is huge now! The interior is decorated with dark woods and and dimly lit making it a romantic type of place (but difficult to photograph your food, or maybe that’s just me lol). The wait staff is always friendly and attentive.

Don’t let the fact that the name of this place is Pizza House, they have a HUGE menu! My grandma loves their baked ziti and I have a friend who swears by their hamburgers! There motto is “A Slice of Chicago Right Here in East Lansing” and the menu states that they have been voted Best Pizza, Best Salads, Best Chipatis, Best Takeout, and Best Munchies by a readership poll…that has to tell you something right there! Anyway, the menu is broken up into From the Bar (drinks both hard and soft), Beverages (Wines & Beers), Appetizers (featuring bread sticks and fabulous fried food), World Famous Chipatis (I’ve never had one, but it seems to be a salad stuffed into a pita), Salads (my mom loves their Antipasto salad), Pizza (available in Traditional, Thin, Super Thin, Sicilian Deep Dish, Chicago Deep Dish, and Chicago Stuffed Deep Dish. They also have many specialty toppings that can come on any of the crusts. They also have a white sauce that is amazing!), burgers, sandwiches, grilled entrees, pasta, lunch specials, and desserts. What can I say? Its 14 pages long: If you want it, they probably have it.

Anyway, on this visit we started with the breadsticks. They are buttery and delicious and topped with Parmesan cheese. They also come with a choice of ranch or marinara.

For our entree we ordered the Chicago Style Hawaiian Pizza (sans olives). I love Hawaiian Pizza and this was perfect! The sauce is delicious and it was hot and cheesy!

If you are looking for food in the Lansing/East Lansing area, go to Pizza House! It is the place where MSU students take their parents when they come to visit. It is amazing and I’m pretty sure whatever you order, you’ll like it! My one word of advice is if you like a lot of sauce get the stuffed pizza. If not, you probably want to get a different style. My favorite is probably the Chicago Deep Dish.

Pizza House is located in the Hannah Plaza at 4790 S. Hagadorn across from Hubbard Hall in East Lansing. They also have a location on Church Street in Ann Arbor. You can check them out online at pizzahouse.com.
